Construction Begins on New TUMO Center Building in Yerevan
Yerevan, February 27, 2026 – The construction of the EU-TUMO Engineering and Applied Science Complex officially commenced in Yerevan on February 24. This new five-story building, located in Tumanyan Park, is set to expand the existing TUMO complex, offering additional space for free technology and creative education to both teenagers and adults.
The project, valued at €42.5 million, is primarily funded by TUMO, with a significant investment of €12.5 million contributed by the European Union. This collaboration underscores the EU’s commitment to fostering education and innovation in Armenia.
TUMO: A Hub for Creative Technologies
TUMO Center for Creative Technologies is an educational hub designed for adolescents aged 12 to 18, specializing in technology and design. It provides a unique learning environment where young individuals can develop essential skills for the digital age.
The European Union expressed its enthusiasm for its involvement in this initiative, stating, “The European Union is delighted to be a part of this initiative, supporting TUMO with funding, partnerships, and mentorship programs that bridge Armenian young talent with European research and industry experts.” These programs are designed to advance STEM education, enhance teacher skills, and facilitate student exchanges, ultimately transforming Armenian talent into globally competitive products and a skilled workforce.

TUMO currently operates centers in several Armenian cities, including Yerevan, Dilijan, Koghb, Gyumri, Yeghegnadzor, and Kapan, with an additional 31 TUMO boxes active in neighboring towns. Beyond Armenia, TUMO’s international presence includes centers in Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Tirana, Berlin, Mannheim, Hirschhorn, Lüdenscheid, Coimbra, Lisbon, Buenos Aires, and Gunma, showcasing its global commitment to empowering youth through technology and creativity.
