16-Year-Old Pregnant Girl Seeks Abortion in Yerevan, Alleges Rape
Yerevan, February 10 – An extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan on January 28, 2026. Around 7:00 PM, the Davitashen police department of the General Department of Community Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received operational information that a 16-year-old resident of Yerevan, S.D., had applied to the “Beglaryan” Medical Center for an abortion, according to Shamshyan.com.
Upon arrival, Davitashen police officers were informed by S.D. that in December 2025, in Davitashen, an individual identified as S. held her hands, while another individual, V., had sexual relations with her against her will, resulting in her pregnancy.
Investigation Underway, Suspects Identified
According to the website’s information, operational investigative measures undertaken by the Davitashen police department revealed that the individual identified as S. is a 17-year-old S.B. from one of the regions, and the individual identified as V. is a 20-year-old V.S. from another region. Measures are currently being taken to locate them.
Documents regarding the incident have been compiled by the Davitashen police department and transferred to the Ajapnyak and Davitashen administrative districts’ investigative department of the Yerevan City Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
