Yerevan, August 19, 2026 – Armenia highly values the level of cooperation established between Yerevan and Washington. This was stated by Armenian Justice Minister S. Ghalayan during a meeting with a US delegation led by US Charge d’Affaires David Allen.
Further Development of Bilateral Cooperation
According to the press service of the Ministry of Justice, during the meeting, S. Ghalayan stressed the need for further development of bilateral cooperation, including in the context of implementing the “Trump’s Road to International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project.
The parties discussed possible areas of future cooperation, including through programs implemented by the US Embassy’s International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) office.
Priorities in the Justice Sector
Regarding priorities in the justice sector, S. Ghalayan emphasized the development of a new development strategy, which, among other things, will focus on combating corruption, strengthening human rights protection, and judicial reforms.
The meeting also discussed arbitration, mutual legal assistance, and other issues of mutual interest.
S. Ghalayan also invited David Allen to the annual “Arbitration Week” event to be held in Armenia in September. In turn, David Allen thanked the delegation for the invitation, expressing interest in the further development of this area and possible cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue and expand cooperation in the field of justice.
