Vagharshapat, January 21 – Community police officers of the Vagharshapat Department received operational intelligence indicating that two young men, a 28-year-old resident of Ijevan and a 31-year-old resident of Vaskepar village, were colluding to produce and sell various types of counterfeit alcoholic beverages. This information was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs Police.
Joint Operation Leads to Arrests in Parakar Village
As a result of joint operational-investigative measures undertaken by community police and Armavir region patrol officers, the 31-year-old suspect was located and apprehended on Yerevanian Street in Parakar village. He was then transported to the Vagharshapat Department along with his Opel vehicle.
It was revealed that the 28-year-old resident of Ijevan had transferred 342 bottles of various types of counterfeit beverages to the 31-year-old Vaskepar resident. The latter intended to transport these bottles to Ejmiatsin for sale.
Second Suspect Apprehended in Ejmiatsin
Following further investigative efforts, the 28-year-old suspect was located and arrested on Grigor Lusavorich Street in Ejmiatsin. The Opel vehicle has been moved to a special impound area of the department.
“The young men, along with the compiled documents, have been presented to the pre-investigative body,” the statement read.
