Yerevan, December 22 – The contract for the major renovation of the Kievyan Bridge in Yerevan was terminated on December 10. A revised project and a new tender for construction works are anticipated by the end of the first quarter of 2026, with the goal of executing the construction during the summer holidays. This announcement was made today, December 22, during a regular operational meeting at Yerevan City Hall by Andranik Tevosyan, Acting Head of the Construction and Improvement Department of the City Hall staff.
Comprehensive Maintenance for Yerevan’s Bridges
Tevosyan presented slides with photographs, stating, “Within the framework of the program for the maintenance of bridges and bridge structures in Yerevan, maintenance work has been carried out on 28 bridge infrastructures.” He detailed the scope of work, which included:
- Repair of deformation joints
- Cleaning of drainage pipes
- Replacement of damaged pipes with new ones
- Installation of new drainage manholes and grids
- Greasing, painting, and straightening of wheel guards
- Painting of road fences
- Replacement of damaged sections of fences with new ones
- Replacement and installation of new road reflectors
Additionally, the maintenance efforts extended to painting bridge railings, plastering and painting the back surfaces of bridges, and treating and painting corroded surfaces of metal bridges.
Extensive Road Renovation Program Completed
Tevosyan also reported on the 2025 road renovation program for Yerevan, which involved the full implementation of 200,000 square meters of road renovation works. As part of these efforts, the asphalt-concrete pavement of deformed wavy sections in several major intersections was completely replaced.
