Fatal Road Accident Claims Driver’s Life, Injures Two on Yerevan-Sevan Highway
Yerevan, February 25, 2026 – A tragic car accident occurred early this morning on the Yerevan-Sevan highway, near the city of Hrazdan, resulting in the death of the driver and injuries to two passengers. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene after a report was received at 00:27 on February 25.
According to preliminary information from the Kotayk Regional Operational Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Rescue Service, an ‘Opel’ branded vehicle veered off the 45th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway and crashed into trees. The impact was severe, leading to the immediate death of the driver.
Firefighters and rescuers from the regional rescue department were on site to assist. They successfully extricated the two injured passengers and transferred them to an ambulance. Both individuals were subsequently hospitalized for medical attention. Following this, rescuers worked to remove the driver’s body from under the vehicle, which was then transported by a mortuary vehicle.
