Gyumri, Shirak Province – The operation of a gas station belonging to “AMA EXPERT GROUP” LLC, located at Yerevan Highway 185/1 in Gyumri, Shirak Province, has been suspended following an inspection by the Armenian Market Surveillance Inspectorate. The inspection, conducted by the Market Surveillance Inspectorate, uncovered that the company was operating with unverified measuring devices.
Violations Lead to Suspension of Gas Sales
The inspection revealed significant non-compliance with regulatory standards regarding the accuracy of measuring equipment. As a direct consequence of these findings, the sale of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) at the station has been immediately halted. The suspension will remain in effect until all identified violations are fully rectified and the station meets the required legal standards.
A spokesperson for the Market Surveillance Inspectorate stated, “The company was found to be using measuring devices that had not undergone the necessary verification process. This poses a risk to consumers, and therefore, we have ordered an immediate suspension of gas sales until these issues are resolved.”
Company Ordered to Comply with Regulations
The director of “AMA EXPERT GROUP” LLC has been instructed to take all necessary measures to bring the gas station into compliance with the requirements of legal acts. This includes ensuring that all measuring equipment is properly calibrated and verified according to national standards.
In addition to the operational suspension, the economic entity will be subjected to administrative liability in accordance with the law. The exact nature and extent of the penalties will be determined based on the severity and duration of the violations.
This incident highlights the ongoing efforts by regulatory bodies to ensure fair trade practices and consumer protection within the energy sector. Regular inspections are crucial to maintaining the integrity of measuring instruments and preventing potential fraud or inaccuracies in fuel dispensing.
Broader Context of Market Surveillance
This suspension is part of a broader series of control measures implemented by the Market Surveillance Inspectorate across Armenia. In recent months, similar actions have been taken against other gas stations and businesses found to be in violation of regulatory standards. For instance, on April 11, 2026, the sale of liquid gas and gasoline at a gas station belonging to “Ars-Oil” LLC was suspended. Earlier, on March 14, 2026, the sale of gasoline and diesel fuel at a gas station owned by “Vahagn Vardanyan Otariki” IE was also halted due to similar control measures. These actions underscore the commitment to enforcing compliance and protecting consumer interests nationwide.
The Market Surveillance Inspectorate continues to monitor the market to ensure that all businesses adhere to established norms and provide accurate services to the public. Consumers are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or concerns regarding measuring accuracy at fuel stations or other commercial establishments.
