YEREVAN, January 15 – A German citizen sustained multiple stab wounds in an incident that occurred on January 11 in Yerevan. The victim, identified as 35-year-old Mohamed Kasem, was admitted to the “Armenia” Medical Center with “multiple cut-and-pierced wounds to the lower left limb and a cut-and-pierced wound to the right thigh.”
Police Receive Report, Victim Unable to Testify
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, operational information was received by the Mashtots Department of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia around 05:20 on the day of the incident. Doctors at the hospital informed police that Kasem was unable to provide a statement regarding the events due to undergoing surgery.
Details of the Incident Emerge
It was later determined that around 03:00 on the same day, near 21 Ohanov Street, an unknown assailant inflicted injuries on various parts of Kasem’s body using a sharp, cutting, and piercing object.
Investigation Underway
