Yerevan, March 2 – The latest reports indicate a dramatic escalation of conflict in the Middle East, with the Strait of Hormuz now closed and hundreds of casualties reported. Iran has announced a cessation of trade through the vital strait and a ban on American vessels, leading to a significant increase in regional tensions.

Hormuz Strait Closed, Tankers Anchored

The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has had immediate repercussions, with at least 150 tankers reportedly anchored outside the strait in the Persian Gulf, unable to proceed due to the heightened tensions. This development is expected to have a substantial impact on global oil markets and international shipping.

Air Strikes and Ballistic Missile Attacks

The conflict has seen a series of military actions. Israeli air forces reportedly shot down two Iranian fighter jets at Tabriz airport. Meanwhile, powerful explosions were heard in Damascus, believed to be air defense systems intercepting missiles. In a significant escalation, an Iranian ballistic missile strike on Beit Shemesh has reportedly injured around 20 people, with some in serious condition.

Tragic Casualties, Widespread Damage

The human cost of the escalating conflict is becoming tragically clear. According to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, over 140 children have been killed in strikes on Minab. Additionally, dozens of homes in Tel Aviv have been damaged, indicating widespread destruction.

Prime Minister’s Visit Tensions and Weather Warnings

Domestically, during the Prime Minister’s visit to Ijevan, an argument reportedly occurred with a citizen regarding the appointment of a kindergarten director. The Prime Minister has forbidden appointments through mediation. Meanwhile, the republic is bracing for precipitation in the coming days, with snow and blizzards expected in mountainous regions, and temperatures set to drop by 6-9 degrees Celsius.

These events paint a grim picture of a region on the brink, with the conflict showing signs of spiraling beyond control.
