YEREVAN, May 27 – Representatives from the business, financial, public, and expert communities gathered in Yerevan yesterday for the annual Impacture 2026 conference to discuss current trends in corporate social responsibility (CSR), philanthropy, and public benefit investments. IDBank was a key partner of the event.
IDBank’s Chairman on Redefining Social Responsibility
Mher Abrahamyan, Chairman of the Management Board at IDBank, participated in one of the conference’s central discussions, a panel titled “Philanthropy, CSR, and Public Benefit Investments: Contradiction or Complementarity?” During the discussion, Abrahamyan underscored that in the modern financial system, social responsibility has evolved beyond mere charity. It has become a crucial component of strategic business management, focused on creating long-term impact, public trust, and sustainable development.
“Today, corporate social responsibility is not just an initiative; it’s a mindset and an integral part of business culture. At IDBank, we are confident that successful business is not measured solely by financial results. It is also important to share that success with society, support people, and contribute to the development of the environment,” Mher Abrahamyan stated.
“The Power of One Dram” Initiative Highlighted
IDBank also presented its experience with social responsibility programs at Impacture 2026, including the “The Power of One Dram” initiative. Through this program, Idram and IDBank have already allocated approximately 300 million drams to implement over 55 educational, social, environmental, and community projects. This initiative exemplifies the bank’s commitment to making a tangible, positive difference in various sectors of society.
Impacture 2026: A Platform for Dialogue on CSR
The Impacture 2026 conference served as an important platform for stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue about the evolving landscape of corporate social responsibility. The discussions aimed to foster a deeper understanding of how businesses can integrate social and environmental considerations into their core strategies, moving beyond traditional philanthropic approaches to create more holistic and sustainable impact.
Participants explored various models and best practices for effective CSR, with a focus on initiatives that generate both economic value and societal benefits. The conference emphasized the need for collaboration between the private sector, non-governmental organizations, and government bodies to address pressing social and environmental challenges.
Future of CSR: Strategic Integration and Long-Term Impact
The insights shared at Impacture 2026, particularly by IDBank, suggest a growing trend towards the strategic integration of CSR into overall business operations. This approach views social responsibility not as an add-on, but as a fundamental aspect of creating a resilient and reputable business. The focus is increasingly on measurable outcomes and long-term societal benefits, rather than short-term charitable gestures.
The emphasis on sustainable development and public trust reflects a broader shift in corporate philosophy, where companies are expected to play a more active role in contributing to the well-being of the communities in which they operate. The discussions at Impacture 2026 are expected to contribute to shaping future CSR policies and practices in Armenia and beyond.
