Production of ‘Semyonich’ Sour Cream Halted in Yerevan
Yerevan, February 19 – The Food Safety Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia has announced the suspension of production for the ‘Semyonich’ brand of sour cream at the Arzni Katnamterk LLC dairy facility located on Moldovakan Street in Yerevan. This measure was taken after inspections revealed significant deviations from established safety standards.
Inspectors from the Yerevan center of the Food Safety Inspectorate conducted a routine check at the Arzni Katnamterk production facility. During this inspection, a sample of the ‘Semyonich’ brand product, specifically labeled as ‘milk-containing product with milk fat substitute, prepared with sour cream technology 20%’, was collected for laboratory analysis.
Product Fails to Meet Technical Regulations
The results of the laboratory examination confirmed that the sampled product did not meet the requirements set forth by the technical regulations of the Customs Union, particularly concerning its milk fat content. Consequently, the product has been classified as unsafe for consumption.
Following these findings, the head of the Inspectorate issued a decision to suspend the specific production function at the Arzni Katnamterk facility dedicated to the ‘Semyonich’ brand sour cream. The company has been instructed to take immediate and necessary steps to bring the product in line with legal requirements.
Corrective Measures and Deadline Issued
A specific deadline has been set for Arzni Katnamterk to rectify the identified violations. The Inspectorate emphasizes its commitment to ensuring food safety and protecting public health by enforcing strict adherence to quality and safety standards across all food production facilities in Armenia.
The Food Safety Inspectorate will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that all corrective actions are implemented effectively and that the product meets all regulatory standards before production can resume.
