Summary of 2025 Prosecutorial Work in Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts
Yerevan, February 13 – On February 11, 2026, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Lilit Grigoryan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, to summarize the 2025 activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts. The event was attended by Rafael Manukyan, Prosecutor of Yerevan, Armen Muradyan, Prosecutor of the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts, heads of territorial subdivisions of the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, prosecutors of the administrative district prosecutor’s office, and other officials.
Criminal Proceedings and Case Outcomes
Armen Muradyan presented the report on the work of the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts’ Prosecutor’s Office for 2025. He noted that in 2025, 5228 criminal proceedings were initiated, a decrease from 6673 in 2024. During the reporting period, prosecutors submitted 1182 criminal proceedings to court with approved indictments, involving 1203 individuals. This marks a significant increase compared to 2024, when 672 criminal proceedings involving 731 individuals were submitted.
In the courts, 758 criminal cases involving 785 individuals were completed in 2025, up from 585 criminal cases involving 617 individuals in 2024.
Financial Damages and Recovery
According to the Prosecutor of the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts, the damage caused to the state by criminal proceedings amounted to 268 million 341 thousand drams. In the same period, 151 million 309 thousand drams of this damage was recovered.
Protection of State (Community) Interests
Addressing the work carried out in the field of state (community) interests protection, Armen Muradyan informed that in 2025, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts conducted 7 studies. These studies concerned various issues, including:
- Compliance with fire and technical safety standards at gas stations.
- The legality of land plots provided for rent and construction rights in Azatutyun Square.
- The legality of land plots alienated through auctions and the auction process in the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts.
As a result of these studies, prosecutors submitted crime reports, lawsuits to the Administrative Court, and petitions to the competent authorities.
In 2025, 10 lawsuits filed by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts were examined and are currently being examined in the proceedings of the competent court.
The comprehensive review highlights the ongoing efforts of the Prosecutor’s Office to uphold justice, ensure public safety, and protect state interests within these key administrative districts of Yerevan.
