Teenager Stabbed in Yerevan: Two Minors Injured, 19-Year-Old Suspect Sought

Yerevan, January 11 – Two 16-year-old minors were injured in a stabbing incident that occurred on January 4 in Yerevan. The incident took place on Hin Yerevantsu Street, where an altercation led to the teenagers sustaining stab wounds.

Emergency Response and Hospitalization

At approximately 6:45 PM on January 4, the Central Department of the Community Police General Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia received an operational report regarding a dispute at 2 Hin Yerevantsu Street. Emergency medical services were immediately dispatched to the scene. Two minors, identified as A.P. and G.G., were transported to the “Wigmore Clinic” medical center for treatment of their injuries.

Police Investigation Underway

According to information provided by G. Shamshyan, officers from the Central Police Department initiated a series of measures to identify the perpetrator. Their investigation revealed that a 19-year-old resident of Yerevan, Avetis B., allegedly inflicted the stab wounds on the two minors. Authorities are actively working to locate Avetis B. and recover the knife used in the crime.

Criminal Proceedings Initiated

Following the incident, documents were compiled by the Central Police Department and transferred to the Investigative Department of Yerevan City for the Investigative Committee of Armenia, specifically to the Central and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts’ Investigative Division. Criminal proceedings have been initiated based on the facts of the case.

Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses and more information becomes available. The police urge anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect or the incident to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
