Two Injured in Gas Filling Station Explosion in Yerevan
Yerevan, January 13 – An emergency incident took place on January 9 at a gas filling station located at 228 Hrachya Kochar Street in Yerevan. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received an operational report around 4:50 PM that an ambulance team had transported a citizen with a diagnosis of “polytrauma” from Hrachya Kochar Street to Heratsi No. 1 University Hospital. Approximately an hour later, a second citizen was transported from the same address with a diagnosis of “GUV and polytrauma.”
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Arabkir police department, led by a senior community police officer, arrived at the hospital. It was confirmed that the operational information was accurate, and the hospitalized individuals were 50-year-old Armen A. and 63-year-old Bayandur A., both residents of the Aragatsotn region.
Explosion During Welding Work
Arabkir community police officers determined that on the same day, around 2:00 PM, Armen A. and Bayandur A. sustained bodily injuries as a result of an explosion of a gas filling meter while performing welding work at the gas filling station operating at 228 Hrachya Kochar Street.
Documents concerning the incident have been compiled by the Arabkir police department and transferred to the Arabkir administrative district investigative department of the Investigative Department of Yerevan City of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, where criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding the incident.
