Yerevan and Regions to Implement 17-Hour Water Supply Regime

YEREVAN, February 24 – Starting May 1st, 2026, residents of Yerevan and surrounding regions will experience a temporary shift to a 17-hour daily water supply schedule. This decision, announced by “Veolia Jur” CJSC, is a proactive measure to manage increased water consumption during the warmer summer months.

Reasons Behind the Temporary Water Supply Change

According to information provided by “Veolia Jur” CJSC to “Novosti-Armenia” agency, the transition to a 17-hour schedule is directly linked to the anticipated surge in water demand as temperatures rise in the summer. The company clarified that this schedule adjustment during the summer aims to ensure that citizens have access to water during the daytime hours when demand is highest.

The published schedule by “Veolia Jur” CJSC indicates that the 17-hour water supply regime will be in effect from May 1st to September 16th. During this period, water will be supplied from 07:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight) daily.

Affected Areas in Yerevan and Beyond

The restrictions will impact numerous addresses across all 12 administrative districts of the capital city. These include Kentron, Arabkir, Ajapnyak, Malatia-Sebastia, Kanaker-Zeytun, Nor Nork, Nork Marash, Nubarashen, Davtashen, Avan, Erebuni, and Shengavit. The company’s 2026 schedule explicitly details these affected areas.

For the remainder of the year, outside the summer period, specifically from January 1st to May 1st and from September 16th to January 1st, the water supply is expected to operate on a 24-hour basis, as stated by the company.

Ensuring Water Availability During Peak Demand

This temporary measure highlights the challenges faced by utility providers in managing resources, especially in response to seasonal fluctuations in demand. By implementing a scheduled supply, “Veolia Jur” aims to optimize water distribution and prevent potential shortages during the hottest months, thereby ensuring a more consistent service for its customers throughout the day.

The company urges residents to take note of the new schedule and plan their water usage accordingly to adapt to the temporary changes. Further details and specific street-level schedules are expected to be made available by “Veolia Jur” to inform the affected populations.
