YEREVAN, 24 December 2025 – Kazakhstan showcased its diverse tourism potential in Yerevan today during a roundtable discussion aimed at fostering cooperation with Armenia in the tourism sector. The event, organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Armenia with the support of the Armenian Tourism Federation, brought together key stakeholders from both nations.
Roundtable Highlights Bilateral Tourism Opportunities
The roundtable served as a platform for promoting Kazakhstan’s tourism opportunities, raising awareness among the Armenian public, expanding tourist exchanges between the two countries, and strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties. Participants exchanged experiences and proposals for boosting bilateral cooperation, underscoring the mutual benefits of enhanced tourism.

Prominent figures at the event included Bolat Imanbayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia, Lusine Gevorkyan, Chair of Armenia’s Tourism Committee, and Mehak Apresyan, President of the Armenian Tourism Federation. Via videoconference, Nurtas Karipbayev, Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Tourism Industry Committee, and Ainur Zhumatayeva, Director of Marketing and International Markets at Kazakh Tourism, also participated, alongside representatives of Armenia’s tourism business.
Kazakhstan’s Diverse Tourism Offerings
Ambassador Imanbayev emphasized Kazakhstan’s wide array of destinations, spanning cultural, ecological, business, sports, and medical tourism. He highlighted the rapid development of tourism infrastructure, the formation of new clusters, and significant improvements in service quality in recent years. This growth, he noted, positions Kazakhstan as an attractive destination for Armenian tourists.
Resumption of Direct Flights: A Key Focus
A significant point of discussion was the potential for expanding bilateral cooperation through more convenient transport and logistics solutions. Ambassador Imanbayev announced that the embassy is actively working with relevant agencies to resume direct flights between Yerevan and Astana. This initiative is expected to significantly boost tourist traffic between the two countries.
Future Cooperation and Familiarization Trips
The sides also agreed to continue cooperation through familiarization trips for tour operators and media representatives. These trips are designed to enable participants to gather materials and present tourism opportunities more objectively and attractively, thereby stimulating interest and bookings.
