The Minister wrote, “Dear citizens, let’s be more vigilant and careful, especially these days when the weather is stubbornly taking its toll.”

Emergency Services Overwhelmed by Incident

Brigades from the Aragatsotn regional station of the Republican Emergency Medical Service have been working under extreme pressure since Tuesday morning, providing operational medical assistance to those injured in the chain collision. The Minister noted that the emergency services are heavily burdened by the incident.

Details of the Hospitalizations

The ten injured citizens have been admitted to both regional and Yerevan medical centers. They are currently undergoing medical examinations, and some cases are described as severe. The exact nature of their injuries has not yet been disclosed.

Safety Warnings Issued by Health Minister

In light of the incident, Minister Avanesyan reiterated the importance of adhering to safety regulations. She specifically urged drivers and passengers to fasten their seatbelts and to use car seats for children under seven years of age.

“Once again, I urge you to observe safety rules: always fasten your seatbelt, and in the case of children under 7 years old, use a car seat,” Avanesyan stated.

Context of Road Safety in Armenia

This incident underscores the critical importance of road safety, particularly during adverse weather conditions. Authorities frequently issue warnings and advise drivers to exercise caution on Armenian roads, which can be challenging due to mountainous terrain and varying weather patterns.
