YEREVAN, January 30 – A tragic multi-vehicle collision on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway on January 27, 2026, has claimed the life of one individual. Patvakan Karapetyan, who was critically injured in the 15-car pile-up, passed away at the ‘Armenia’ medical center in Yerevan after failing to regain consciousness.

Details of the Fatal Accident

The incident occurred on the 52nd kilometer section of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway. Karapetyan was reportedly driving a “Ford Transit” vehicle when the chain-reaction collision took place. He was transported to the medical center in an extremely critical condition.

The Talin department of the Police Community Police General Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received an alert from the ‘Armenia’ medical center on January 28, confirming Karapetyan’s death.
