One Dead After 15-Vehicle Accident on Yerevan-Gyumri Highway

One Fatality Reported in Major Multi-Vehicle Collision Near Gyumri

Gyumri, January 30 – A tragic 15-vehicle collision on the Yerevan-Gyumri highway on January 27 has claimed one life. Patvakan Karapetyan, who was critically injured in the accident, passed away on January 29 at the “Armenia” Medical Center in Yerevan. He had been admitted to the intensive care unit in extremely serious condition following the pile-up.

The incident occurred on the 52nd kilometer of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway. Karapetyan was reportedly driving a “Ford Transit” vehicle at the time of the accident. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, specifically the Talin Department of the Community Police, received an alert from the “Armenia” Medical Center regarding Karapetyan’s death.

Details of the Accident and Investigation

Preliminary reports indicate that a large number of vehicles, totaling 15, were involved in the collision. The exact cause of the multi-vehicle crash is currently under investigation by law enforcement authorities. Further details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
