Seven Arrested After Street Brawl Near Yerevan Medical University

YEREVAN, March 11 – On March 6, a public disturbance involving several individuals escalated into a physical altercation near the Mkhitar Heratsi Medical University in Yerevan. The incident, which occurred at the intersection of Abovyan and Koryun streets, prompted a police response following reports of a brawl and the use of offensive language.

Police Intervene and Make Arrests

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, officers from the Police Guard Service were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they apprehended seven individuals on suspicion of hooliganism. The arrested individuals were subsequently transported to the Marash Department of the General Department of Community Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.

  • Hovik S., 28, a resident of Ararat Province

Dispute Over Yielding Right of Way Led to Violence

Investigations at the Marash Police Department revealed that the altercation originated from a dispute over yielding right of way between two groups. Nver Sh., Zohrab Sh., Rubik Sh., and Gevorg Sh. were involved in an argument with A. T., Agasi A., and Hovik S. This verbal disagreement quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, with both sides reportedly exchanging blows.
