Yerevan, March 12 – A traffic accident occurred in Yerevan yesterday, March 11, involving a ‘Hongqi’ brand car and a pedestrian. The incident took place around 9:00 PM on Tigran Mets Avenue.
Details of the Accident
According to reports, 27-year-old Tigran S., a resident of Yerevan, was driving a ‘Hongqi’ vehicle when he hit a pedestrian on Tigran Mets Avenue. Following the initial collision, the ‘Hongqi’ then crashed into a parked ‘Honda’ car, driven by 22-year-old Karen M., a resident of Shirak Province, which was stopped at a traffic light.
Driver’s Immediate Response
Unlike many hit-and-run incidents, the driver of the ‘Hongqi’, Tigran S., did not flee the scene. Instead, he immediately rendered assistance to the injured pedestrian. He also cooperated with the 1-03 emergency medical services that promptly arrived at the location, helping them transport the injured individual to the hospital.
Investigation Underway
A criminal proceeding has been initiated by the investigative department regarding the incident. The identity of the pedestrian who was hit is currently being established as part of the ongoing investigation. Further details are expected to be released as the inquiry progresses.
