Kapan-Yerevan-Kapan Flights Resume Today
Yerevan, March 31, 2026 /Novosti-Armenia/. Flights between Kapan and Yerevan, and vice versa, have resumed today, as announced by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan on his Facebook page. The flights will operate five days a week.
About “Syunik” Airport and Yerevan-Kapan Route
The “Syunik” Airport, which had been non-operational for approximately 30 years, was previously renovated to meet international standards. It received certification from the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia in 2020. In September 2023, the airport was granted a three-letter identifier (YUK) by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
On August 21, 2023, NorAir airline launched regular flights on the Yerevan-Kapan-Yerevan route. The one-way ticket price was 20,000 drams (approximately $50).
Flights between Yerevan and Kapan were temporarily suspended from September 3, 2025, to allow for technical maintenance of the aircraft, ensuring flight safety and comfort.
The resumption of flights is expected to significantly improve connectivity and accessibility for residents and visitors of the Syunik region.
