Traffic Flow Rerouted at Key Yerevan Intersection

Yerevan, April 1, 2026 – Commuters in Yerevan are advised of new traffic arrangements at the intersection of Isahakyan and Tamanyan streets, which came into effect today. The changes, announced by the Yerevan City Hall, are aimed at improving traffic flow and safety in the area.

The primary modification involves the removal of temporary covers from several road signs previously restricting certain maneuvers. Specifically, the 3.1 ‘No Entry’ sign, the 3.18.1 ‘No Right Turn’ sign, and the 8.5.4 ‘Operating Time (11:00-24:00)’ sign are now fully visible and enforceable.

Details of the Implemented Changes

Prior to April 1, these signs were temporarily covered, allowing for different traffic patterns. With the covers now removed, drivers must adhere to the regulations indicated by these signs. This means that entry to certain areas and right turns at the specified location are now prohibited according to the signs, with the operating time restriction for the ‘Operating Time’ sign also now fully active.

The Yerevan City Hall has not yet released detailed information regarding the specific reasons behind these changes, but such modifications are typically made to address traffic congestion, enhance pedestrian safety, or facilitate ongoing urban development projects.

Impact on Local Commuters

Residents and daily commuters using the Isahakyan and Tamanyan intersection are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new regulations to avoid violations and ensure smooth travel. Traffic police will likely be present in the initial days to guide drivers and ensure compliance with the updated rules.

The City Hall urges all drivers to exercise caution and follow the posted signage to maintain an orderly traffic environment in the city center. Further announcements regarding the long-term impact or additional related changes are expected to be communicated by the municipal authorities.
