Cyclone Approaches Armenia: Five Days of Unstable Weather Ahead

Yerevan, April 26 – Armenia is bracing for a new period of unstable weather as another cyclone is set to enter the country this evening, according to Gagik Surenyan, Deputy Director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center of the Ministry of Environment. The cyclone is expected to linger for five days, bringing significant changes to the weather patterns across the republic.

Temperature Drop and Precipitation Forecast

Surenyan announced that temperatures are projected to decrease by 4-6 degrees Celsius. Residents can expect short-term rains in the evenings and afternoons during the upcoming days. In the Lori and Shirak regions, there is also a possibility of snow.

The precipitation is anticipated to cease, and temperatures will rebound by the same margin, around April 30 to May 1. The full details of the forecast were provided in a video released by Surenyan.

Widespread Impact Across the Republic

The approaching cyclone will affect various regions of Armenia, with widespread rain, thunderstorms, and potential hail. Citizens are advised to take necessary precautions due to the expected weather conditions.

This weather event follows a series of recent announcements, including the successful completion of road asphaltation projects in ChinChin, the restoration of the 19th-century Karakamunj bridge over the Akhum River, and various cultural and sporting events across the country. However, the immediate focus shifts to the incoming weather system and its potential impact on daily life.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has not yet issued any specific warnings, but residents are encouraged to stay updated with local weather forecasts.

The public will be informed of any further developments regarding the cyclone and its trajectory as new information becomes available.
