YEREVAN, April 27 – The Investigative Division of Arabkir of the Yerevan City Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings regarding the deaths of two individuals at the “ZORAK” round-the-clock care center. The center, under the balance of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, is located at 52 Kanaker bypass tunnel.
Investigation Launched into Deaths at ZORAK Care Center
The incident concerns two deaths that occurred on April 16, 2026. Fotolournalist Gagik Shamshyan reported that at approximately 05:40 on that day, the Arabkir police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia received operational information that there was a body at the mentioned center.
It was later confirmed that the body of 38-year-old Heriknaz S. was discovered at the center. Hours later, the Arabkir police department received further operational information indicating another body at the same care center. This second individual was identified as 74-year-old Nerses E.

The criminal proceedings have been initiated under the articles related to murder (sudden death). Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding both deaths to determine the exact cause and any potential foul play. The identities of the deceased have been released, and their families have been notified.
