Police Pursuit Leads to Arrests in Gyumri
GYUMRI, Armenia – Police in Gyumri’s Mush district detained two young men on March 6, 2019, following a pursuit involving a suspicious vehicle. The incident, which occurred around 9:00 PM on Tumanian Street, led to the discovery of a homemade firearm and a folding knife.
Details of the Incident
Officers from the Mush police department were on patrol when they observed a VAZ-2106 vehicle driving without its headlights on. The police stopped the car and, due to suspicion, brought the driver and passenger, along with the vehicle, to the department for questioning.
The driver was identified as Gor G., born in 1998, and the passenger as Artyom D., born in 1999.
Weapons Discovered During Search
During a personal search of Artyom D., a homemade firing device containing a cartridge-like object was found in the pocket of his coat. Additionally, a folding pocket knife with a total length of 16 cm and a blade length of 6.5 cm was discovered in his sock.
Forensic ballistic and forensic criminal examinations have been ordered as part of the ongoing investigation.
