YEREVAN, May 10 – The Armenian Meteorological Service has issued a weather forecast indicating short-term rains and thunderstorms for Yerevan and several regions of the country from May 9 to May 11, 2026. A significant increase in air temperature is also expected during this period.
Weather in Yerevan: Rain and Thunderstorms Expected
For Yerevan, short-term rains and thunderstorms are possible in separate parts of the city during the evening hours of May 9-11. During thunderstorms, wind intensification is expected, reaching speeds of 16-19 m/s. The night of May 10-11 and May 13 will be without precipitation.
Regional Weather Outlook: Hail Possible
In the regions of Armenia, short-term rains and thunderstorms are anticipated in isolated areas during the daytime hours of May 9-11. Localized hail is also possible. The wind will be south-westerly, blowing at 2-5 m/s, with gusts of 16-20 m/s during thunderstorms.
Temperature Increase Across Armenia
A gradual increase in air temperature is forecast across the country. From May 9 to May 12, temperatures are expected to rise by 6-8 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to take note of these changes and prepare for fluctuating weather conditions.
