Man Assaults Woman in Yerevan Over Payment Dispute for Sexual Services
Yerevan, May 10 – An unusual incident occurred in Yerevan on May 6, 2026, when a 40-year-old woman, Nunufar K., reported to the Shengavit department of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia that she had been assaulted. According to her statement, at approximately 7:00 AM, an unknown individual struck her with his hands and feet, causing physical pain, during an argument over payment for sexual services at 54 Bagratunyats Avenue.
Police Identify and Detain Suspect
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of operational investigative measures undertaken by officers of the Shengavit police department, the unknown individual was identified as 26-year-old Arnak Kh., a resident of Aragatsotn Province. The suspect was brought to the Shengavit police department at approximately 7:20 AM on the same day, based on reasonable suspicion of having committed physical violence.
Documents related to the incident have been compiled and submitted, along with Arnak Kh., to the Shengavit administrative district investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
