Yerevan, June 20 – A significant car accident occurred yesterday evening, June 19, at approximately 6:40 PM, at the intersection of Komitas Avenue and Vagharshyan Street in Yerevan. The collision involved a “Kia Optima” driven by 21-year-old Gor S. and an “Opel Zafira” driven by 58-year-old Gnun M.
Two Hospitalized Following Collision
As a result of the crash, two passengers from the “Kia Optima,” 34-year-old Gohar Gh. and 63-year-old Artur Gh., sustained bodily injuries and were promptly transported to the “Kanaker-Zeytun” Medical Center for treatment.

Upon receiving the report, officers from the 2nd company of the 4th battalion of the Patrol Service Regiment of the Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia in Yerevan quickly arrived at the scene. The team was led by Battalion Commander Davit Nikoghosyan, Company Commander Vladimir Derzyan, and Deputy Company Commander Hayk Gevorgyan. Senior Patrol Officer Davit Grigoryan and Junior Patrol Officer Artur Meloyan from the same company cordoned off the area to ensure safety and facilitate investigation.

Information regarding the accident was forwarded by the Yerevan City Regiment of the Patrol Service to the Road Traffic Crimes Investigation Department of the Yerevan City Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. An investigative team, headed by the duty investigator, arrived at the scene shortly thereafter. A criminal proceeding has been initiated by the investigative department regarding the incident to determine the exact circumstances and causes of the accident.

This incident follows a series of other traffic accidents reported recently. On the same day, a “Zhongtong” serving route number 46 in Yerevan collided with a parked “ZIL” truck, resulting in injuries. Additionally, in the village of Arjut, an “Opel” and a “GAZ-53” collided, injuring minors. Earlier reports also included a “KamAZ” loaded with stones overturning on the Vanadzor-Spitak highway, and a truck “Gazel” overturning after hitting a concrete electric pole in the Armavir region.
