Yerevan, Armenia – July 2 – The Government of Armenia officially approved the candidacy of Armen Muradyan as the Rector of Mkhitar Heratsi Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) during its session held on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
Muradyan’s Election by the Board of Trustees
This governmental confirmation follows the competitive election for the Rector’s position, which took place on June 26 at a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the “Mkhitar Heratsi Yerevan State Medical University” Foundation. All 20 members of the board were present at the session. The results of a closed secret ballot revealed that Professor Armen Abgari Muradyan was elected as the Rector of YSMU with a significant majority, securing 19 votes in favor, with one ballot deemed invalid.
