Yerevan, July 6 – Significant construction and improvement works have been carried out in the central part of Tsaghkunk village, located in the Sevan community of Gegharkunik Province. These works were commissioned by the Territorial Development Fund of Armenia.
Extensive Infrastructure Upgrades
According to information provided to “Armenpress” by the staff of the Sevan Municipality, the project was implemented within the framework of the “Improvement of the Central Part of Tsaghkunk Settlement, Sevan Community, Gegharkunik Province, RA, TUR-17” sub-program. The scope of work included the construction of a 180-linear-meter reinforced concrete road section and a parking lot passing through the central part of Tsaghkunk village. Concurrently, the village park was improved with the installation of a lighting network and communal facilities.
Furthermore, the road leading from the central area to the St. Harutyun Church was tiled, and approximately 900 meters of drainage system were installed, directing water to the Hrazdan River.
Enhanced Environment for Residents
“As a result of the works, the central part of Tsaghkunk has a new look, and the little ones of the village now have a comfortable and safe environment to organize their leisure and rest,” stated the staff of the Sevan Municipality.
The improvements are expected to significantly enhance the quality of life for the residents of Tsaghkunk, providing better infrastructure and recreational spaces. The new road and parking facilities will improve accessibility and traffic flow in the village center, while the renovated park offers a modern and safe area for children and families.
Ongoing Development in Gegharkunik Province
This project is part of a broader initiative to develop and improve infrastructure across the Gegharkunik Province. Recent reports indicate various other developments in the region, including the dismantling of unauthorized structures along Lake Sevan, the allocation of produce from new greenhouses in Martuni to kindergartens, and road asphalt paving in Ddmashen.
The Territorial Development Fund of Armenia continues to play a crucial role in commissioning and overseeing such projects, aiming to foster economic growth and improve living conditions in rural communities. The successful completion of the Tsaghkunk project serves as an example of these ongoing efforts.
The detailed planning and execution of the “TUR-17” sub-program highlight the commitment to sustainable development and community well-being in the region. Local authorities emphasize that such initiatives are vital for both current residents and future generations, contributing to the overall attractiveness and functionality of the settlements.
