Gyumri, Shirak Province, Armenia – Residents and businesses in specific districts of Gyumri, Shirak Province, and Yerevan are experiencing temporary gas supply interruptions on July 7th and 8th, 2026. The suspensions are a result of scheduled maintenance and repair works being carried out by ‘Gazprom Armenia’.
Planned Maintenance Affects Thousands
According to an official announcement by ‘Gazprom Armenia’, the gas supply cutbacks are necessary to perform critical maintenance on the gas pipeline network. These planned works aim to ensure the reliability and safety of the gas distribution system for consumers in the long term.
The affected areas in Gyumri, Shirak Province, include the eastern part of M. Khorenatsi Street, from V. Sargsyan Street to M. Avetisyan Street, the 1st and 2nd districts of V. Sargsyan, and adjacent areas of Savoyan Street. The gas supply in these locations was suspended from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on July 7th.
In Yerevan, the capital city, the Central administrative district is also subject to gas outages. Specifically, areas enclosed by Khorenatsi Street, Tigran Mets Avenue, Khorenatsi 2nd Lane, and Kristapor Street experienced interruptions from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM on July 7th. Additionally, the district bordered by Mashtots Avenue, Pap King Street, Saryan Street, and Byuzand Street in the Central administrative district faced similar gas supply suspensions during the same timeframe.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and make alternative arrangements for cooking and heating during the maintenance period. ‘Gazprom Armenia’ has expressed its apologies for any inconvenience caused and emphasized the importance of adhering to safety requirements.
A representative from ‘Gazprom Armenia’ stated, “These planned works are crucial for upgrading our infrastructure and ensuring the continuous and safe supply of gas to our customers. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the affected communities.”
Previous and Future Interruptions
This is not an isolated incident. Similar planned gas supply interruptions have been reported in various regions of Armenia due to ongoing maintenance efforts. For instance, on June 29th, 2026, gas supply was also suspended in designated areas, and on June 17th, 2026, a damaged gas pipeline in Shirak Province led to outages in several settlements.
Local authorities have urged residents to stay informed about such announcements and to contact ‘Gazprom Armenia’ for any emergencies or further information regarding the gas supply. The company continues to monitor the situation closely to restore full service as quickly and safely as possible.
The scheduled maintenance is part of a broader program by ‘Gazprom Armenia’ to modernize its gas network across the country, aiming to enhance efficiency and prevent future unplanned disruptions.
