Brawl in Yerevan: Two Suspects Detained Following Public Disturbance

YEREVAN, Armenia – A public disturbance involving a brawl took place in Yerevan on the evening of June 24. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Police, Nor Nork Department, received information at approximately 11:45 PM regarding a fight and dispute at 56 Moldovakan Street.

Police Response and Detainments

Officers from the Nor Nork Police Department and the Nor Nork Guard Department of the Police arrived at the scene. Upon their arrival, a group of individuals attempted to flee, but two of them were apprehended. According to information from G. Shamshyan, these two individuals were detained on suspicion of hooliganism and transported to the Nor Nork Police Department in an “Infiniti” vehicle they were operating.

Identities of the Suspects

The detained individuals were identified as 28-year-old Matsak A. and 28-year-old Seryozha A., both residents of Yerevan. The photojournalist’s information also indicates that two “Toyota” and one “Mercedes” brand cars were found in the vicinity of the incident.

Investigation Underway

Documents regarding the incident have been compiled by the Nor Nork Police Department and transferred to the Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts’ investigation department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia in Yerevan. The investigation into the circumstances of the brawl and the role of the detained individuals is ongoing.
