Yerevan, July 27 – A tragic car accident and subsequent fire on the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway near the Aygovan settlement bridge yesterday evening, July 26, 2026, resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left two others injured.
Details of the Multi-Car Collision
The incident occurred around 7:50 PM on the Yerevan-Yeraskh highway, specifically on the bridge near the Aygovan settlement. Three vehicles – a ‘Toyota’, a ‘Volkswagen’, and a ‘Lada’ – were involved in the collision. Following the impact, the ‘Volkswagen’ caught fire.
Emergency services, including firefighters, promptly responded to the scene. After extinguishing the blaze, rescuers discovered three charred bodies inside the ‘Volkswagen’. Two other individuals involved in the accident sustained various bodily injuries and were transported to a hospital for medical attention.
Investigation Underway
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has initiated criminal proceedings in the Vedi investigative department regarding the incident. Authorities are currently working to identify the owners and drivers of the vehicles, as well as the identities of the deceased and injured.
