YEREVAN, September 5, 2026 – Officers from the Kanaker-Zeytun district police department received an operational report yesterday evening, September 2, concerning an armed altercation on Gogol Street in the capital. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials observed individuals engaged in a dispute who then attempted to flee, but their escape was short-lived.
Three Suspects Detained in Kanaker-Zeytun
At approximately 6:10 PM, three young men were apprehended on suspicion of hooliganism involving the use of weapons, as well as illegal possession of cold weapons and firearms. They were subsequently transported to the Kanaker-Zeytun police station for further processing.
Weapons Seized During Personal Searches
During a personal search of a 20-year-old resident of Kievyan Street, a switchblade knife and a combat pistol were discovered and confiscated. A subsequent personal search of a 19-year-old resident of Aram Khachatryan Street yielded a loaded automatic rifle and another switchblade knife.
