COP17: A Major International Event in Yerevan

The 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) is scheduled to take place in Yerevan from October 19 to 30, 2026. This significant event will bring together representatives from governments, international organizations, the scientific community, civil society, and businesses to discuss global biodiversity issues.

Key Focus of the Conference:

The main theme of the conference will be the first global assessment of the implementation of the “Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework,” adopted in 2022. This framework aims to achieve 23 targets by 2030, including the conservation of at least 30% of the planet’s land and water areas.

Pre-Conference Events:

Ahead of the main conference, a leaders’ summit is planned for October 16 in Yerevan, followed by the official ministerial segment on October 27-28.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges drivers to exercise caution and adhere to the temporary traffic regulations to ensure smooth flow and safety during the preparatory activities for this international event.
