Yerevan, May 7 – A 19-year-old driver involved in a highly publicized incident where he crashed his Mercedes into a bus on Myasnikyan Avenue has been identified, arrested, and transferred to pre-investigation authorities. “On May 6, officers from the Avan Department of the Community Police identified, arrested, and presented the 19-year-old driver to the pre-investigation body,” the police statement said.

It was reported on May 5 by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia that a criminal case had been initiated under two articles regarding the accident involving the 19-year-old. The General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia also announced that public criminal prosecution had been initiated against the 19-year-old driver under three articles of the Criminal Code, including charges of hooliganism.
