Yerevan, May 17 – Officers from the General Department of Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Yerevan Criminal Department, identified the individual who fired shots on Parpetsi Street yesterday, May 16, based on operational intelligence received.

Following explanatory work, the individual voluntarily presented himself at the Yerevan Criminal Department hours later, bringing with him a registered ‘Saiga’ type assault rifle, which was the instrument of the crime.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Yerevan resident Nver A., was brought to the 2nd Investigative Department of Kentron and Nork-Marash Administrative Districts of the Yerevan City Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. Criminal proceedings have been initiated under the article of ‘hooliganism’ regarding the incident.
