YEREVAN, August 21 – A chain collision involving five vehicles took place yesterday evening, August 20, on Minsk Street in Yerevan. The accident, which occurred around 9:00 PM, involved a “Kia EV6,” “Kia Forte,” “Honda Accord,” “Renault Logan,” and an “Opel Astra.”
One Person Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Crash
One individual was injured in the collision. Citizens and an emergency medical team from Yerevan’s 103 ambulance service provided immediate assistance and transported the injured person to the “St. Gregory the Illuminator” Medical Center.
Police patrols from the 3rd battalion, 3rd company of the Yerevan City Regiment of the Patrol Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, led by Battalion Commander Arsen Sargsyan and Deputy Commander David Hovhannisyan, arrived at the scene. Patrol officers Hayk Naslyan and Artur Avetisyan cordoned off the area.
Criminal Proceedings Initiated
Information regarding the accident was forwarded from the Patrol Service to the Road Traffic Crimes Investigation Department of the Yerevan City Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. An investigative team, headed by Deputy Department Heads Grigor Avetisyan and Artur Adamyan, along with Senior Investigator Aramazd Harutyunyan, arrived at the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated by the investigative department to ascertain the identities of the vehicle owners, drivers, and the injured person. The investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances of the chain collision.
Recent Road Incidents in Armenia
