Following reports of significant waste accumulation around Kari Lake, a popular tourist destination on Mount Aragats, the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body (EMIB) initiated administrative proceedings on August 15. The EMIB collaborated with the “Ashtarak Waste Management and Sanitary Cleaning” municipal enterprise to address the issue, resulting in immediate sanitary cleaning operations in the area.
EMIB’s Initiative for Sustainable Tourism
Given Kari Lake’s status as a frequented tourist spot, the EMIB has proposed to the community the installation of an adequate number of waste bins and the regular organization of waste removal and sanitary cleaning activities. This proactive measure aims to maintain proper sanitary conditions and prevent future waste accumulation, ensuring the long-term environmental integrity of the area.

Currently, the surroundings of Kari Lake are clean and in proper sanitary condition. This successful intervention highlights the EMIB’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainable tourism in Armenia.
