Criminal Case Filed Against Individual for False Denunciation of Investigator in Yerevan
Yerevan, August 11 – A new criminal case was registered on August 10, 2026, at the Yerevan Criminal Court. The case, involving charges of false denunciation, has been assigned to Judge Martin Arzumanyan, as reported by Iravaban.net, citing the DataLex judicial information platform.
Circumstances of the Case
S.E. has been charged with intentionally making a false denunciation against G.M., a senior investigator of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia for Ararat Province. S.E. was aware that the information provided was false and had been warned about criminal liability for providing false information to an authorized body regarding the commission of a crime by an individual.
S.E. has been charged under Article 476, Part 2, Clause 3 of the current Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, which pertains to false denunciation.
As a preventive measure, S.E. has been prohibited from leaving the country, according to Iravaban.net.
