Yerevan, April 25 – A tragic and major car accident occurred yesterday, April 24, in the Kotayk region of Armenia. At approximately 07:00 AM, Saribek A., a 45-year-old resident of Yerevan, was driving a Russian-registered Porsche Cayenne on the 25-kilometer section of the Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan highway, near the second bends of “Chaini.”
Details of the Accident
The vehicle reportedly veered off the roadway and crashed into an iron barrier located in the median strip, continuing for approximately 80 meters. According to Gagik Shamshyan, a prominent journalist reporting on the incident, the driver died instantly at the scene.
His body was discovered approximately 10 meters away from the vehicle. The incident has been classified as a criminal proceeding by the Abovyan Investigative Department, which has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
