Yerevan, May 16 – On May 15, 2026, at 3:27 PM, the Kotayk Regional Operational Management Center received an alarm about a house fire in the Nurnus summer cottages. Two fire and rescue crews from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Rescue Service, Yerevan City and Regional Rescue Department, were dispatched to the scene.
Fire in Nurnus Village: Details of the Incident
It was determined that the fire broke out on the roof of one of the houses located in the Aygegorcneri district of the settlement. The fire was isolated at 4:15 PM and completely extinguished at 5:26 PM.
Extent of the Damage
Approximately 70 square meters of the house’s roof and various household items were destroyed in the blaze. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
Response of Emergency Services
The swift response of the fire and rescue teams ensured that the fire was contained and extinguished within a few hours, preventing further spread. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
