Yerevan, Armenia – Public areas within the Nubarachen administrative district of Yerevan are set to benefit from a new irrigation system, transitioning from the use of water trucks to a more sustainable irrigation water supply. This initiative, spearheaded by the Yerevan Municipality, involves the transfer of irrigation water via a pipeline from an artificial reservoir located in the Yerevan-adjacent area, which is under the jurisdiction of the Water Committee.
Expansion of the Irrigation Network
The project builds upon previous efforts, with 1 kilometer of the irrigation system already installed last year. This year, the network has been further expanded by an additional 1.5 kilometers. To enhance the efficiency of the installation process, state-of-the-art equipment for welding polyethylene pipes has been acquired.
