Ddmashen village, located in the Sevan community of Gegharkunik Province, is currently undergoing significant infrastructure improvements. Four of its streets are being thoroughly renovated under a subvention program spearheaded by the Armenian government.

Project Details and Funding

The total contract value for the Ddmashen street renovation project is set at 98.4 million Armenian Drams (AMD). This substantial investment is a collaborative effort, with 50 percent of the funding provided by the Government of Armenia and the remaining 50 percent contributed by the Sevan Municipality.

Scope of Work

The project encompasses a comprehensive range of improvements designed to enhance the village’s infrastructure and the quality of life for its residents. Key aspects of the renovation include:

  • Asphalting: A total area of 7700 square meters of road surface will be asphalted, ensuring smoother and more durable roadways.
  • Pavement Installation: New pavements will be installed, improving pedestrian access and safety.
  • Curbstone and Gutter Installation: Curbs and gutters will be put in place to better manage water runoff and protect the integrity of the roads.
  • Drainage System Construction: A new drainage system will be constructed to prevent flooding and further extend the lifespan of the renovated infrastructure.

These works are expected to significantly upgrade the village’s road network, making it more resilient to weather conditions and more convenient for both drivers and pedestrians.

Completion Timeline

Construction work on these four streets is slated to be completed within the year 2026. This timeline suggests a thorough and well-planned approach to the renovation, allowing for quality execution of all planned improvements.

Broader Context of Regional Development

This project in Ddmashen is part of a larger trend of development and improvement across the Gegharkunik Province and beyond. Recent reports from the region highlight several other ongoing and completed projects, indicating a concerted effort to boost infrastructure and services in various communities.

  • Tsaghkunk Development: Construction and landscaping works have been carried out in the central part of Tsaghkunk.
  • Sevan Lake Shoreline Cleanup: In June, 61 unauthorized structures were dismantled in the coastal areas of Sevan.
  • Martuni Greenhouses: Produce from newly built greenhouses in Martuni will be supplied to kindergartens.
  • Public Hearings in Sevan: Priority tasks were identified during public hearings in the Sevan community.
  • Agricultural Expansion in Gegharkunik: By 2026, 35,619.31 hectares of cultivated land will be under crops in Gegharkunik.
  • Gyumri Polyclinic Renovation: The renovation of Polyclinic No. 2 in Gyumri is underway.
  • Gyumri Gymnastics School Reconstruction: Reconstruction works for the children’s and youth gymnastics school in Gyumri are in progress.
