Yerevan, July 6 – The ambitious “Symphonic Forest” project, a collaborative effort aimed at reforestation in Armenia, has successfully concluded its primary tree-planting phase in the Shirak region. The initiative, spearheaded by “The Power of One Dram,” “My Forest Armenia,” and the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, saw the planting of 15,758 trees, significantly contributing to the region’s greening efforts.

Project Culminates with “Symphonic Journey” Concert

The conclusion of the project was marked by a special “Symphonic Journey” concert. All proceeds from ticket sales for this event will be dedicated to planting additional trees in the forest, reinforcing the project’s long-term commitment to environmental sustainability. The concert served as a celebratory culmination of the extensive efforts put forth by all participating organizations and volunteers.

Significant Contribution to Reforestation

Initially aiming to plant 20,000 trees, the project has already achieved a substantial milestone with 15,758 trees now established in the Shirak region. This achievement was made possible through the generous support of Idram and IDBank, who contributed over 12 million drams to the initiative. Their financial backing proved crucial in transforming the “Symphonic Forest” into a tangible reality.

Arsen Kdenyan, Director of Idram, highlighted the alignment of the “Symphonic Forest” concept with the company’s philosophy. “The idea of ‘Symphonic Forest’ resonated with our company’s philosophy from the very beginning,” Kdenyan stated. “Through small steps, we create big changes. At Idram, we believe that great and significant results are achieved by those who are ready to patiently and steadfastly invest in the future.”

Mher Abrahamyan, Chairman of the Board of IDBank, emphasized the importance of such environmental initiatives. “Within the framework of environmental programs, we have planted more than 50,000 trees in Armenia in recent years. Supporting such initiatives is an important part of our mission,” Abrahamyan remarked, underscoring IDBank’s commitment to a cleaner and greener environment for future generations.

Unique Tree Arrangement Reflects Symphonic Structure

A distinctive feature of this forest is the arrangement of its trees, which mirrors the structure of a symphony orchestra. This unique design element adds an artistic dimension to the environmental project, blending the beauty of music with the natural world.

Antre Gumushchean, founder and director of “My Forest Armenia” NGO, expressed his delight at the Symphony Orchestra’s involvement in such an initiative. “I am glad that the Symphony Orchestra came up with such an initiative – to create a forest of the same name in the Shirak region. Music and nature are very important to us,” he noted, highlighting the harmonious connection between the arts and environmental conservation.

Sargis Balbabian, Director of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, underscored the long-term impact of this project, especially as it coincided with the orchestra’s 20th anniversary concert season. “We are very excited that our orchestra, in cooperation with Idram, IDBank, and ‘The Power of One Dram,’ was able to launch such a project aimed at preserving forests,” Balbabian stated, emphasizing the significance of this collaboration.

A Partnership for Biodiversity and Forest Restoration

The “Symphonic Forest” project stands as a testament to a major partnership dedicated to the restoration of Armenia’s forests and the preservation of its biodiversity. The initiative demonstrates that true investments are not merely about numbers but about creating visible, positive changes in the environment.

Idram and IDBank are regulated by the Central Bank of Armenia.
