Yerevan, June 5 – Two real estate properties located in the Kentron administrative district of Yerevan have been returned to state ownership as part of ongoing efforts to protect state interests. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia confirmed the registration of state ownership on June 6, 2026, following a court settlement.

Legal Proceedings and Settlement

The Prosecutor General’s Office had previously announced that its Department for the Protection of State Interests filed a lawsuit with the Anti-Corruption Court on January 23, 2026. The lawsuit sought to invalidate a real estate purchase and sale agreement concluded on December 27, 2008, between “Armenian Research Institute of Seismically Resistant Construction and Structures” CJSC and “Jermuk International” LLC.

On April 14, 2026, the court confirmed a settlement agreement between the parties. This legally binding agreement led to the registration of the Republic of Armenia’s ownership rights over the two properties.

Details of the Returned Properties

The returned properties include a basement area with a total surface of 51.9 square meters, located at building No. 7 on Aghayan Street in Yerevan’s Kentron administrative district, and a land plot measuring 0.08 hectares.

This action underscores the Armenian government’s commitment to reclaiming assets that were improperly privatized or acquired, thereby safeguarding public resources and ensuring legal transparency in property transactions.

The Prosecutor General’s Office continues to pursue cases aimed at protecting state and public interests, ensuring that illegally alienated properties are returned to their rightful owner, the state.
