YEREVAN, June 18 – Ucom, in cooperation with Impact Hub Yerevan, has announced the launch of the third phase of the Ucom Fellowship program. For the third consecutive year, Ucom is supporting early-stage startups that offer technological solutions to critical environmental challenges in Armenia, as reported by Ucom’s press service.
Kick-off Event Gathers Innovators and Entrepreneurs
The kick-off event took place at Impact Hub Yerevan, bringing together entrepreneurs, innovators, and representatives from the sustainable development sector who are participants in the 2026 program. During the event, Ucom CEO Ralf Yirikian and Impact Hub Yerevan Executive Director Haykuhi Orujyan delivered welcoming remarks, after which this year’s participants presented their initiatives.
“For Ucom, technology is not just about communication and digital services; it is also a tool for creating solutions that benefit society and the environment. For the third consecutive year, we are supporting initiatives that offer practical, innovative, and long-term solutions to Armenia’s environmental problems. We are confident that supporting such teams and ideas is an investment not only in individual startups but also in shaping a more sustainable future,” said Ralf Yirikian, CEO of Ucom.
“We attach great importance to creating environments that enable innovators to bring about real change. When we see that Lake Sevan is healthier, that there is less waste in the fields, that more young people believe they can build something here without leaving the country, that is already a success. This is what happens when a company like Ucom decides that it is worth investing in innovation,” noted Haykuhi Orujyan, Executive Director of Impact Hub Yerevan.
Diverse Solutions for Environmental Challenges
This year’s initiatives offer solutions in various directions, ranging from textile waste recycling and the preservation of Lake Sevan’s ecosystem to digital environmental activism and solar-powered sanitary-hygienic solutions. The 2026 participants include the initiatives Sweet Dreams, Clean Environment, Eco Station, Step2Green, Latte Environmental NGO, Rivers2Sevan, and Trinity ASZ.
During the nine-month program, participants will engage in intensive workshops focused on business modeling, marketing, funding opportunities, and other topics. They will also have the opportunity to leverage Impact Hub’s international network, which includes over 100 centers. At the end of the program, the most promising projects will receive initial funding of 400,000 drams to expand their operations.
