YEREVAN, August 18 – The air transport communication between Iran and Armenia is gaining new momentum with the official resumption of direct regular flights between Tabriz and Yerevan after a prolonged interruption. This move is anticipated to significantly activate tourist and business connections between the two countries.

Mohammad Ali Nael Karamaleki, Director General of Airports in East Azerbaijan Province, confirmed the restoration of air communication in an interview with local media outlet Aftab News. According to the official, the passenger transportation services will be operated by the Iranian airline Poya Airlines.
Flight Schedule and Inaugural Flight
According to the confirmed schedule, flights will operate regularly twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. The Director General stated that the inaugural flight on the renewed schedule from Tabriz International Airport to the Armenian capital is already slated for this Thursday, August 18, 2026.
