Yerevan Zoo Welcomes New Residents
Yerevan Zoo has recently expanded its animal collection, offering visitors exciting new discoveries. The zoo announced that new residents are now on display, promising a fresh experience for all who visit.
Among the notable additions is a young male lion named Zeus. This majestic creature is expected to be a major attraction for visitors. In a first for Armenia, the zoo is now exhibiting African white-faced antelopes, commonly known as blesboks. These unique animals add to the zoo’s growing diversity.
For fans of wild felines, the zoo has introduced Pallas’s cats, or manuls, known for their distinctive appearance and perpetually ‘disgruntled’ expressions. These elusive cats are sure to captivate audiences.
The Caucasian lynx, a native species, have also benefited from recent improvements, having been moved to new, more spacious enclosures. This provides them with a more natural and comfortable environment.
The bird section of the zoo has also seen significant enhancements with the addition of three new aviaries. These new habitats are home to newly exhibited species of peacocks, pheasants, and cranes, further enriching the avian collection.
These new additions and improvements are part of the zoo’s ongoing efforts to enhance visitor experience and provide optimal living conditions for its animals.
